Before you register

Before you register as a Compensator with MedCo, your organisation must be registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and provide a valid ICO number which we will verify with the ICO register of fee payers. If you do not have an ICO registration, you can find out how to register on the ICO website www.ico.org.uk

Please also consider the steps below before submitting an application to register.

Step 1: Motor Insurers Bureau membership (Insurer only)

To register as a Insurer Authorised User of MedCo we will check that you are a member of the MIB.  Every insurer underwriting compulsory motor insurance in the UK must be member of MIB and contribute to the Bureau's funding through a levy.  Accordingly, you will be required to confirm membership during the application process.

Step 2: Read the requirement to declare direct Financial Links

All Compensator Authorised users of MedCo must declare any direct financial links they have that meet the Ministry of Justice statement on direct financial links.

Step 3: Read the User Agreement

All Compensator users must click to accept an Authorised User Agreement during the application process.
