Official Injury Claim
In 2021, the MoJ introduced the Official Injury Claims (OIC) service to support individuals make their own personal injury claim following a road traffic accident in England and Wales.
If you have a qualifying claim and the compensator admits liability, in full or in part, you will need to obtain a medical report to support your claim for whiplash injury.
The OIC service will guide you through the process of selecting a medical report provider who will examine you and produce a report.
All medical report providers are accredited and audited by MedCo. You must contact medical report providers to discuss their availability and the service offered before you make a selection on the OIC service.
The report will provide you with a diagnosis of the injuries you have suffered and a prognosis for your expected recovery time.
The medical report provider will upload your report to the OIC service where you will be able to review it.
You cannot change an experts medical opinion however you must check the report for factual errors.
