The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) has today issued a stakeholder Alert; a full copy of which can be read below.

Stakeholder Alert: MedCo: additional rules and audit process for direct medical experts

The Government remains committed to ensuring that all those who will provide medical reports to both represented and unrepresented claimants are competent, efficient and have well-run, transparent consumer protection policies and procedures in place.

Therefore, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is today issuing a targeted survey for directmedical experts (DMEs) wishing to opt-in to provide medical reports to unrepresented claimants following the implementation of the whiplash reforms on 1 August 2020.

MoJ has worked closely with MedCo to develop new rules for DMEs which will ensure thatthey operate to a high standard. The new rules only apply to DMEs, but responses from all MedCo users are welcome.

To take part in the survey, please download and read the revised rules here:

The survey will close at midnight on Wednesday 1 April 2020. Any responses received after this date will not be included in the analysis but will be retained and read.
