CPD and Accreditation reinstated with 2 new courses

Published: 2 October 2020

MedCo has today lifted the suspension and reset the deadline for its Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme and Accreditation process for medical experts.

As previously communicated, all accredited operational experts have had their 2019/2020 CPD deadline for completion re-set to 31 May 2021.

All new experts currently working through the initial Accreditation will have a further 9 months to complete their training from 01 October 2020.

All dates will automatically re-set.

If you have already completed the CPD requirement for 2019/2020 period there is no further CPD requirement until the new MedCo academic year starting on 01 June 2021.

You can check the status of your CPD by logging in to your account.

Log on to your MedCo account at https://app.medco.org.uk and select the Training option that is available on your home page.   You will see your training record and all the modules that are available to you.  As you progress through your CPD your record will update, and you will be able to see how much training you have completed and how much is outstanding.

Please note that certificates are not issued for the completion of CPD.  You will receive an email to confirm completion.

To coincide with the resetting of the CPD deadline, MedCo have launched two new courses, available immediately to select;

  • Civil Procedure Rules and
  • Medical Report Writing – Refresher and Update

The courses can be accessed in the usual way via your MedCo account.

Additional information for MROs

As an MRO you must continue to check the status of a medical expert in line with the Guidance to the MoJ Qualifying Criteria.

Please note that certificates are not issued for the completion of CPD.  Experts receive an email to confirm completion and can check their progress by logging into their account.  The Expert Enquiry function provides you with the ability to check if an expert is operational with MedCo.
